The counseling staff at Camp Good News is comprised of young men, women and youth who love Jesus and love hanging out with kids! Our counselors are trained and prepared to minister to your children in a safe and godly manner! Each age group consist of (1) leader and (1) or more assistants depending on size and age of the group. All lifeguards at our lakefront for each group swimming are certified. We follow and adhere to the standards set by the Department of Children and Families. Not only are our campers cared for and ministered to during the summer, but we love and care for our counseling staff as well! We know that happy counselors make for a better experience for your camper! Counselors, along with fun activities, have group worship/devotions in the morning and the evenings.
Camp Good News is a day camp for ages 5–12. Children are in (Four groups):
Our Daily Schedule
Each week at CGN your child will experience a theme throughout a Daily Structured Schedule: Although our weekly theme changes, our daily schedule does not. We believe that structure helps children feel more comfortable & grounded.

We have a new engaging Bible teacher each week throughout the summer who brings the Bible to life for our campers. Bible time consist of songs, memory verse and the lesson for the day. Picture cards/PowerPoint are just a few ways the lessons are presented. The gospel is given at the end of each session.
This is our morning “Big” group game time. This is held outdoors and varies from day to day. Man Hunt, Capture the Flag, Relays, Tug of War, Soccer, Kick Ball, Gator Ball, Fishy Fishy, Dodge Ball, Water Games to name a few. It’s a great work-out and a whole lot of fun.
Children gather to enjoy lunch with their friends and counselors. (Campers bring their own lunch, juice or water, paper plate, bowl, spoon, fork, napkin)
Each group divides up into a personal devotion time tailored to each age group. This is a very special time of learning and growth for the campers.
