Summer day camp for ages 5 to 12
Each summer, children ages 5 to 12 spend their days outside in the Florida sunshine: racing down the water slide, heading out on the lake, playing gaga ball with brand new friends, and hearing the good news of Jesus in a way they carry home with them.
Our days are full, active, and high-energy from drop-off to pickup. That's exactly what makes camp so memorable, and it's also why most families find one to four weeks to be the sweet spot. A week or two gives your child something to look forward to all year, and every single morning still feels like an adventure. Camp is designed to be the highlight of the summer rather than a full-summer childcare option, and our schedule is built that way on purpose.
We also offer school break camps like Thanksgiving Camp and Spring Break Camp, so kids have a joyful, safe place to grow all year long.

How a Typical Day at Camp Works
Every week at Camp Good News follows the same full, active camp day.
This is a sample day, we may change schedule to accomodate weather or our Bible teachers
Mornings:
Campers move through four to five rotations, including the theme of the week, group devotions, and two or three camp favorites like gaga ball, carpet ball, scooters, frisbee golf, and our low ropes course. We have enough activities on hand that campers won't repeat the same one twice in a week, unless it's a favorite they ask to do again. :
Afternoons:
Bible lesson, lakefront time with swimming, the water slide, and boating (weather permitting), and Surf Shack for snacks.
Archery is offered on weeks when a certified instructor is available.
So where does the theme fit in? The theme fills one morning rotation, usually 30 to 45 minutes. Soccer Week means soccer during that rotation, not soccer all day long. Fishing Week runs a little longer, about an hour, since casting and baiting a hook take more hands-on time. Everything else in the day stays the same: devotions, games, the lake, the water slide, and Bible lessons.
We build it this way on purpose. Kids come to camp for the variety, and the theme is a fun bonus on top of a day that's already packed.

- Camp day runs 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM, with breakfast available starting at 8:45 AM
- Early Care and Late Care are available as separate add-ons for families who need extra flexibility. See Extended Care under Info for Parents.
- Optional busing to and from Gainesville is available for an additional fee. See Bussing below.
Spaces fill quickly, so we recommend registering early for the weeks you want most.
